Preparing for Off Campus Living as SUNY Cortland Reopens

With the coronavirus impacting nearly every single thing we do on a daily basis, it should come as no surprise how much the pandemic and the recent health measures have changed colleges and universities. Many college students are eager to look for affordable student apartments near SUNY Cortland and are feeling confused. COVID-19 has made it increasingly difficult for college and university students to plan ahead. In fact, that’s one of the main reasons why more residential students are switching to off-campus student apartments.

At Cortland Student Rentals, we like to arm our students with all the information they need to make the best decision for them; That’s why today, we’re covering the details you need to know so you can move off-campus with ease.

What to expect…

SUNY Cortland is making every effort to conduct a safe move-in process for residential students and staff. As of July 29th, SUNY Cortland is scheduled to reopen using an extended staggered move-in process. Depending on your grade level, room, or floor, you will be assigned a day and time to move-in to your on-campus apartment.  For instance, first-year students may start moving in as early as Saturday, August 22nd, until Monday, August 24th.

The university is hoping that decreasing residential hall capacity by 25% will help to encourage appropriate social distancing measures. SUNY Cortland will also temporarily stop booking three students to a suite.
